Guam Energy Office sponsors regular Workshops that include off-island energy experts to conduct trainings in energy technologies and share success stories of other energy projects in the United States. In December 2004, the Guam Energy Office sponsored an Energy Code Workshop with guest speaker from Strategic Industries Division of Department of Business Economic Development & Tourism, State of Hawaii. IN May 2005, the Guam Energy Office sponsored a Renewable Energy Workshop with trainers from Sandia National Laboratory of New Mexico and Hawaiian Electric Company of Hawaii. The topics of the workshop included energy efficiency air-conditioning and lighting as well as solar application and energy security in the military.

Guam Energy Office, in conjunction with Guam’s “Energy Conservation Month” on September 27, 2007, sponsored a “GREEN” ENERGY CONFERENCE & EXPO, with this year’s theme “BE WISE, ENERGIZE THE SUSTAINABLE WAY”
The Guam Energy Office 2007 “Green” Energy Conference offered an opportunity for potential energy business sectors, as well as government organizations and other interested parties to participate in discussions on key issues and challenges in energy and sustainability. This conference is also aimed at the exchanges of experiences and views on the current technologies and strategies applied in different parts of the world that may be workable locally. The main fields, which are the core of many research efforts are renewable energy sources, energy shortage, energy transportation, energy efficiency, energy, sustainability and many others. These and other aspects are the focus of the presentations and discussions that was conveyed at the conference.
Conference Objectives:
In addition to the “2007 Green Energy Conference”, the Guam Energy Office, sponsored and Energy Exposition in conjunction with the “Energy Conservation Awareness Month on Saturday, September 29, 2007 form 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Center Court of the Agana Shopping Center. The energy exposition showcased businesses that sell, install and feature alternative, renewable and distributed energy generation, energy efficiency and conservation, pollution prevention, recycling and much more.
