Each year, the Guam Energy Office sponsors an Energy Poster & Essay Contest for Guam’s student population. The goal of the contest is to promote energy conservation awareness to Guam’s youth by way of a specific theme. Students from grades Kindergarten to Eighth grade can compete in the Poster Contest and students in High School grades Ninth to Twelfth can compete in the Essay Contest. Entry forms and rules are given to the schools several weeks before the contest is started.

The annual contest is held during Energy Awareness Month in September. All winners will be awarded trophies and certificates at a contest ceremony soon after the winners have been selected. As an additional benefit, the winning entries are incorporated in the Guam Energy Office calendars that are distributed to each school.
